PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchange element that is used in a heat exchange device for air where a harmful gas suction function is added to a heat exchange member that is directly in contact with air flow. SOLUTION: In the heat exchange element of a heat exchange device for air in all human living space, a harmful gas suction function is added to one portion or entire surface of a member that is directly in contact with the air flow of the element. The harmful gas suction function in an ion exchange system is obtained by applying radiation to the member, performing the graft polymerization of polymerization monomer to the member for forming a graft side chain, and introducing an anion or cation exchange group to the side chain.
