PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a large amount of sales data obtained from POS terminals. SOLUTION: The predicting server 4 of this POS support system is provided with a database 6 for sales data for storing the sales data of each merchandise given to a host computer 3 from plural POS terminals 1, a fast retrieving engine 7 for extracting merchandise whose sales are increased suddenly or reduced suddenly among the sales data stored in this database 6, and an extracting application 8 which sets retrieving conditions (the subject, the price zone, etc., of the merchandise) with the merchandise extracted by the engine 7 as sales predicting object merchandise, makes the engine 7 retrieve merchandise having past sales data whose sales tendency is coincident or close and prepares future sales predicting data of sales predicting object. merchandise by using the past sales data of the merchandise extracted by the retrieval. |
