PURPOSE: A double acting sled tester is provided to accurately test a sled by pushing a dash board the same as the collision of a real car. CONSTITUTION: A dummy(18) is placed in a passenger room(14). A guide member(12) and a rail(10) guide the movement of the passenger room. A main cylinder applies a shock to the guide member. Upper and lower dash boards(24) are placed in front of the passenger room. Two pairs of cylinders are connected to the dash boards via a bracket and a bearing. A hydraulic power source(36) supplies pressure to the cylinders. A controller(40) is connected to the hydraulic power source of a main cylinder and the hydraulic power source of the cylinder. A computer(26) controls the motion of the controller.
