PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a memory, and to prevent the deformation of the outer peripheral wall of a cassette shell without increasing manufacturing costs. SOLUTION: A memory holding part 16 having holding grooves 21, 22, 23, and 24 for holding a memory 27a is formed inside a cassette shell 2, and the holding grooves are formed of the outer peripheral walls 11 and 13 and first holding walls 17 and 18 projecting from the outer peripheral walls to the inside part of the cassette shell and second holding walls 19 and 20 using one part of circular-arc shaped ribs 14 and 14 formed inside the cassette shell 2. Also, a through-hole 25 communicated with the memory holding part is formed on the outer peripheral wall of an upper shell 8 or a lower shell 9, and a protruding piece 26 for closing the through-hole when the upper shell is connected to the lower shell is formed on the outer peripheral wall of the lower shell or the upper shell, and receiving parts 25a and 25b for receiving the edge part of the protruding piece when the upper shell is connected to the lower shell are formed at the opening edge of the through-hole, and the outer face of the protruding piece is formed as a display face 28 for displaying the presence or absence of the holding of the memory at the memory holding part.
