PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the processing time of the writing of a servo signal in a flexible magnetic disk media without deteriorating any writing quality. SOLUTION: A flexible magnetic disk media 2 is rotated at a prescribed rotating speed, and a servo signal S1 is written on the circumference of a servo track T1 by a magnetic head 18 for a servo write, and a seek operation L to move the magnetic head 18 to the next servo track T2 in a radial direction is operated so that a servo signal S2 can be written in the next servo track T2. After the writing of the servo signal S1 in the servo track T1 is ended, the seek operation L to the next servo track T2 is completed while the magnetic disk media 2 is rotated at 360 deg./n before one rotation by a position control means C, and the writing of the servo signal S2 is started with a position b from the servo writing start angle (a) in the servo track T1 by 360 deg./n with a start point according to a timing detecting means B, and the control of a control means 50 is provided where this process is repeated under the control of a control means 50.
