PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that can cool each space efficiently without incurring a large-sized scale of the reader even when its optical system member and its signal processing board are built in two isolated spaces respectively. SOLUTION: The image reader 1 is configured with a 1st opening 4f formed to a reader frame 4 to exhaust heated air in the frame 4 incorporating the optical system member 2, a 2nd opening 5a formed to a board frame 5 to exhaust heated air in the board frame 5 incorporating the signal processing board 3 and isolated from the reader frame 4, and an exhaust fan 6 that suctions the heated air from both the 1st and 2nd openings 4f, 5a almost at the same time. |
