PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that measures blockiness, caused by compression of a video signal, even if blockiness period is not known in advance. SOLUTION: The power spectrum of a video field of a received video signal is obtained (step 26), a set of peak is selected from among power spectra decreasing at a common frequency interval (steps 28-30) and a scale of the blockiness with respect to the one set of peak is obtained (step 36). |
