PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular jack which has enough strength in spite of compact and thin size and can be used appropriately for a note personal computer. SOLUTION: A resin casing of two-piece structure comprising a first resin casing 5a having an engaging part 23 engaging a corresponding engaging lever of modular plug and a second resin casing 5b holding a contact pin 3a, 3b is adopted. A metal shell 6 of square circular shape encloses the surroundings of the resin casing 5a, 5b and the metal shell 6 is fixed to each resin casing 5a, 5b. The metal shell divides both the upper and lower surfaces of an insertion recess 4 where the modular plug is inserted and pulled out. |
