The face of the piston(1) in the axial piston machine is pressurized with hydraulic oil via suitably formed longitudinal bores(4) both on the piston upper side and also on the under side so that both pressure forces and also tensioning forces are produced on the piston rod(2). The space below the piston has a seal and a guide(6) which allow pressurizing by hydraulic fluid. The piston underside can be pressurized via a slotted cam plate(5).
