<p>The present invention is directed toward a method and apparatus for efficiently and accurately checking a parking facility to verify that the vehicles parked therein are legitimately parked. Once a car is parked with its identifying tag, a parking check is performed by scanning the tag. A database is searched for relevant parking information related to the tag (125).
