摘要 In order to eliminate cross talk and horizontal brightness variation and improve the display quality and aperture ratio in an active matrix-addressed liquid crystal display in which an electrical field is produced generally in parallel to its substrate, the load on the common electrodes or scanning lines is reduced. Respective pixels aligned in the direction of any scanning line selectably applied to which a scanning signal is caused to change their optical properties alternately for juxtaposed pixels. On the other hand, in a plurality of pixels defined in a plurality of areas surrounded by a plurality of signal lines and a plurality of scanning lines, respective pixels which are juxtaposed in the direction of the scanning line are arranged to form a storage capacitance respectively between its pixel electrode and a common line or scanning line corresponding thereto, which is different between juxtaposed pixels.
