1,130,814. Transducer calibration apparatus. M.E.L. EQUIPMENT CO. Ltd. Feb. 20, 1967, No.7884/67. Heading G1A. A potentiometer 3 in circuit with an electrophysical transducer 1 is automatically adjusted so that the transducer produces a required output in response to a standard input. The arrangement is described in connection with obtaining the same response from eight photo-multipliers in a potato stone sorting machine. When handle 4 is pulled to the left, photo-multiplier 1 is energized by a source of X-rays 2 through a filter 9 which sets the standard, and contacts 10 are closed to connect the output of a comparator 12 in which the photo-multiplier output is compared with a standard, to an electromagnetic clutch 11 in a geared drive between the bar of handle 4 and potentiometer 3. The return of the bar by spring 6 which drives the potentiometer wiper is controlled by a governor 14, and projection 7 from the bar trips the contacts 10, and removes filter 9.
