VALVE TRAIN WITH A SINGLE CAMSHAFT

A valve train with a single camshaft (150) has one or more intake valves (161a, 161b) and one or more exhaust valves per cylinder of an engine block. For each cylinder, an intake crosshead (70) and an exhaust crosshead are pivotally mounted upon the cylinder head. Each intake crosshead is operatively mounted upon the stem top of a corresponding intake valve (161a, 161b). Each exhaust crosshead is operatively mounted upon the stem top of a corresponding exhaust valve. For each cylinder, an intake rocker arm (166) and an exhaust rocker arm are pivotally coupled to the cylinder head. Each intake rocker arm operatively abuts a corresponding intake crosshead (70). Each exhaust rocker arm operatively abuts a corresponding exhaust crosshead. The single camshaft (150) is rotatably mounted to the cylinder head, and operatively abuts the rocker arms.
