An electrically driven hoist (8,9) of given rated load is described. The first electric motor (11) is located on the same axis as the cable drum (10) in front of its first end side and the second electric motor (12) on the same axis in front of its second end side. Both electric motors are coupled directly with the cable drum. Each of the two motors is designed for a torque that is smaller than the rated load. The motors and the cable drum are coupled together via elastic couplings (23) lying in the mechanical force chain.
