<p>A ball valve capable of producing compact, reliable, lightweight products excellent in economical efficiency due to reduced costs, high and uniform in precision, and short in face-to-face dimensions; and a production method therefor. The ball valve, wherein a stem insertion hole is formed in a counter-sunk portion at the center of the body, having the opposite side portions thereof plastic-worked such as flaring/ diameter-shrinking, of a specified-length tube, a pair of annular insert members are press-fitted into the opposite sides of the body, a ball is non-rotatably provided at the lower end of a stem inserted into the stem insertion hole, and the opposite end faces of the body is compression-formed so as to rotatably support/receive the ball by the pair of insert members.</p> |
