The device for electrical and mechanical joining of connection structures provides a high level of working reliability, without the need for selective special solutions to provide definite spacings between the components and circuit board. A flat intermediate carrier is provided between the contact areas of both connection structures, and the intermediate carrier has openings at which the points of contact of both connection structures are spaced apart opposite one another, and a medium, such as solder or an adhesive, through which the points of contact are electrically and/or mechanically joined, is provided in the openings .
