The tread (1) for a truck tyre comprises three wide circonferential groups (10, 12) and four narrow circonferential grooves (11) so as to form six central ribs (20) and two side ribs (21), said central ribs (20) being provided with incisions (30) skewed with respect to a direction perpendicular to the surface of the tread by an angle comprised between 10 degrees and 14 degrees, so that the resulting drive tangential force exerted by the ground on the tyre tends to straighten up the incisions (30) towards zero inclination, and said side ribs (21) being provided with wide transversal grooves (40).
