A light-emitting thyristor matrix array where interconnections intersect eac h other without being connected electrically by dividing an array of three- terminal light-emitting thyristors the common cathode of which is the substrate into blocks of n (integer of 2 or more) light-emitting thyristors, connecting the gates of n light-emitting thyristors in each block, respectively, with n independent gate select lines, and connecting the anode s of n light-emitting thyristors in each block with a common electrode.
