The unit withdraws oxygen in the case of a fire by using heated extinguishing water mists and prevents the fire from expanding. Preferably, the water is sprayed from special nozzles (a,b) and creates turbulence in flammable smoke gas and dissolves them. This reduces additional ignition and prevents further fire hazards. The nozzles are preferably inserted in a special arrangement for quick fire extinguishing.
