PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an octafluoro[2,2]paracyclophane derivative without needing a special facility with an easy operation at a low cost. SOLUTION: A method of production for an octafluoro[2,2]paracyclophane derivative of the general formula 2 (Y is a halogen, an alkyl or an alkoxyl; and n is an integer of 0-4) by reacting a corresponding di(halodifluoromethyl) benzene derivative in the presence of a transition metal compound in an alcohol solvent.
