PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opioid peptide having opioid activities such as an analgesic activity and an anesthetic activity, to provide a method for producing the peptide, and to provide a medicinal composition containing the peptide or its salt as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This method for producing the opioid peptide, characterized by hydrolyzing ribulose-1,5-bisphosphoric acid carboxylase/oxygenase with pepsin or with the pepsin and pancreatin and then collecting the opioid peptide from the obtained hydrolyzate, or by extracting a protein fraction soluble in a urea solution from tea leaves, hydrolyzing the fraction with pepsin or with the pepsin and pancreatin, and then collecting the peptide having a specific amino acid sequence and the opioid activity from the obtained hydrolyzate.
