PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which can control an electric air blower according to a setup operation and a cleaning situation in a simple structure. SOLUTION: An electric air blower 11, a setup method 80 and a controlling device 30 which controls the electric air blower 11 are equipped, and in the controlling device 30, a voltage change circuit 41 which switches an electric supply circuit 40's voltage to a first installed voltage and a second installed voltage alternately and outputs a first scanned pulse and a second scanned pulse alternately and CPU 42 which scans electric current flow in the setup method above by the outputs of the first scanned pulse and the second scanned pulse are fixed, the setup method 80 is fixed with an operating switch circuit 60 which varies an electric current according to setup operation during outputting the first scanned pulse and a cleaning motion detecting circuit 70 which detects a cleaning motion during outputting the second scanned pulse, and CPU 42 reads the setup method 80's electric current varied by the operation switch circuit 60 and the cleaning motion detecting circuit 70 and the controlling device 30 controls the electric air blower 11 activation according to the scanned electric current.
