PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which is used for collecting fine bodies and can efficiently collect the fine bodies of collection targets in good quality, and to provide a method of collecting the fine bodies. SOLUTION: This method of collecting fine bodies 3, comprising catching and collecting the fine bodies 3 in a container 1 by optical forceps means, characterized by comprising mounting an object lens unit 12 equipped with object lenses having different optical magnifications, respectively, in a laser trap portion 10 in a state that the optical magnification can be changed, making a fine body map showing the distribution state of the fine bodies 3 in the container 1 on the basis of recognition results obtained with a camera 18 using a small magnification optical system, determining the execution order of the collection treatment on the basis of the fine body map, and then carrying out the collection treatment of the fine bodies 3 with an optical system having a large magnification according to the execution order. Thereby, the fine bodies 3 can be efficiently collected in good quality.
