PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method excellent in the treatment efficiency and decomposition capacity of a chemical substance in a method for treating the chemical substance by photocatalytic reaction. SOLUTION: The oxidative decomposition treatment of an organic substance to be decomposed is performed using an oxidizing agent, ultraviolet rays, ozone or a titanium oxide photocatayst of which the oxidation potential (against the standard hydrogen electrode V) is 3.5V and subsequently performed using a titanium oxide composite oxide photocatalyst of which the oxidation potential (against the standard hydrogen electrode V) is higher than 3.5 V to treat a chemical substance. |
