<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a selection can be made arbitrarily between glossy and mat print images. SOLUTION: In a printer arranged to form an image on a print sheet by heating an ink ribbon through a thermal head 14 and to overcoat the surface of the print sheet, a CPU 11 controls power supply to the thermal head 14 thus controlling the heating temperature for an overcoat layer formed on the ink ribbon. The CPU 11 controls the heating temperature while keeping the quantity of heat being supplied to the overcoat layer at a constant level.</p> |
