PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for folding back a bag mouth of a packaging bag filled with a culture medium capable of opening the mouth and supporting the bag mouth of the packaging bag filled with the culture medium nearly flat, forming a habit of folding back and well performing the folding back of the bag mouth. SOLUTION: This apparatus for folding back the bag mouth P1 of the packaging bag P filled with the culture medium B is characterized in that the apparatus is equipped with a conveying mechanism 2 for conveying the packaging bag P filled with the culture medium B and having the bag mouth P1 directed upward, a bag mouth flat supporting mechanism 6 provided in the course of the conveying mechanism 2 and capable of inserting paired arms 7 from the opening of the bag P on the inner side of the bag mouth P1 in the tip opening of the packaging bag P, extending the arms 7 to the outside and opening and supporting the bag mouth P1 flat when the packaging bag P filled with the culture medium B is conveyed to a prescribed position and a folding back and guiding mechanism 12 for folding back the bag mouth P1 kept in the flat state with the bag mouth flat supporting mechanism 6 nearly along the top surface side of the culture medium B.
