PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface decorative plate with outstanding durability and decorative properties as well as a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This surface decorative plate 10 has a transparent or a translucent film 26 with a printed image 27, laminated on the plated surface of a metallic plate 11 subjected to bright electro-plating. The method for manufacturing the surface decorative plate comprises a process to print an optional image 27 on the film face of a water transfer paper 23 obtained by laminating the transparent or translucent film 26 on a base paper 24 through a water-soluble sizing agent 25, a process to detach the film 26 from the base paper 24 of the water transfer paper 23 in water and a process to tightly laminate the film 26 detached from the base paper 24 to the plated surface of the metallic plate 11 subjected to bright electro-plating and preferably heat and stick the film 26 to the plated surface.
