A valve is provided for controlling the flow of fluid through a pipeline (10), the pipeline (10) being breached by a lateral opening (12). The valve includes a resilient sleeve (14) which spans the opening (12) and ball (18) movable laterally of the pipeline (10) into the opening (12) thereby deforming the resilient member to close the pipeline. |
