PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel coating powder which, though having friability and a low melt viscosity, is converted, at a high fusion temperature, into a tough coating having good impact resistance and elongation inherent in a thermoplastic powder. SOLUTION: This coating powder contains a cyclic oligomer selected from among polyesters, polycarbonates, polyamides, polyimides and polyamideimides and a ring-opening polymerization agent.
