PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic fine particle-titania sintered body having high catalytic activity using a metallic fine particle-titania composite dispersed solution free from impurities such as surfactants and polymers produced by adopting photoreduction by light irradiation instead of a reducing agent. SOLUTION: A titanium alkoxide is hydrolyzed by using acidic water to produce a titania sol, an aqueous solution of metallic salt is added thereto, this mixed solution is irradiated with light, thereafter, a supernatant is discharged from the mixed solution, and, this supernatant is again irradiated with light, and the photoreduction of metallic ions thereby is reutilized to produce a dispersed solution of a metallic fine particle-titania composite 1 in which metallic fine particles 2 are dispersed into the group of titania particles 3. Moreover, titania powder is immersed into the solution 1, is stirred, is thereafter dried and is then calcined.
