PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion type shock-absorbing packaging material in which an item to be transported is positively held at a predetermined position, neither a shock nor a high vibration is given to the item to be transported, it can be used for whatever shape of the item to be transported and further such a performance as above can be kept for a long period of time. SOLUTION: This air bag is comprised of at least a pair of air chambers made of soft sheet provided with an automatic closing check valve. After the item is stored in a space held by the opposing air chambers, gas is filled in the air chambers, thereby the item is pushed and held through expansion of the opposite two air chambers.
