An artificial boar for stimulating the standing response in sows consists of an autonomically moving trolley (1) on which the shape of a boar (3) is mounted. The trolley spreads a boar odour by means of a spray (5) can and produces a boar sound by means of e.g. an MP3 player and/or tape. The boar can be activated, stopped or made to change direction by remote control.
