PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bricks for metal math which eliminate hallows in float glass manufacturing. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing process of bricks which is more than 20 mm in thickness and is used for the melting metal bath in manufacturing float glass, the bricks in the depth of 20 mm from the surface in contact with the melted metal are controlled to contain iron with a 3 ionic charge at 0.7 mol % or less on a Fe2O3 conversion basis.
