METHOD FOR FORMING METALLIC COATING FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic coating film of a metallic base pigment free from uneven or cloudy appearance of the coating film due to the fine aggregation of a flake-like luster pigment and excellent in depth, glitter and flip-flop characteristics and prevented from color change considered to be due to the aggregation of an organic coloring pigment caused at the time of circulation of a coating material in a circulation pipe line. SOLUTION: In this method for forming a metallic coating film and a clear coating film on a base material on which an under coating film and an intermediate film have been formed, a metallic base coating material forming the metallic coating film is prepared by dispersing the flake-like luster pigment and a phosphate group-containing acrylic resin and subsequently blending other coating material components.
