PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a good cooking quality cannot be se cured due to the denaturation of rice since the rice and water are in a mixed state for a long period by setting a long period to a timer in rice cooking. SOLUTION: The rice 4 and the water 3 are separated and the time is set. At a fixed period (e.g. 30 min) before starting cooking rice, an electromagnetic valve 7 is opened to pour the water into the rice. Thus, the rice 4 and the water 3 are firstly mixed. After mixing them for an optimum period, a rice cooker 1 starts cooking the rice. Consequently, the rice is soaked in the water only for the optimum period, thereby the rice is cooked best without the denaturation of the rice and the water.
