PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multicolor blur-free image exhibiting excellent light fastness and waterproofness with high resolution and high registration accuracy by eliminating the defects of ink jet, i.e., limitation of imaging material and clogging of nozzle, and improving the defects of thermal transfer system, i.e., thermal damage of a supporting material and unevenness of image. SOLUTION: An image receiving material R secured to the circumferential surface of a carrying drum A is applied imagewise with a solution containing a material for lowering the transfer temperature of a transfer recording layer or a solution containing a viscous material and then a latent image is formed. After a solvent is evaporated at least partially from the latent image part, a transfer material T is applied tightly to the image receiving material R on the carrying drum A and heated in order to transfer the transfer recording layer at the latent image part to the image receiving material R thus forming an image. Furthermore, the solution containing a material for lowering the transfer temperature or the solution containing a viscous material is applied imagewise to that surface in order to form a latent image thus forming an image of different color on the image receiving material R. A multicolor image is obtained by repeating the process. |
