RUBBER-BASED INTERIOR MATERIAL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather strip having a high grade decorative surface of a suede tone without using a cloth lamination method or the like. SOLUTION: There are formed into one body a solid welt portion 2 made of an ethylene-propylene rubber as a base material, a panel lip 4, a seal lip 3 made of a sponge rubber and further a sponge rubber surface layer 25 made of an alkylated chlorosulfonated polyethylene as a base material covering the surfaces of the welt portion 2 and the panel lip 4 by mean of a simultaneous extruding method. The sponge rubber outer skin layer 21 of the thus formed sponge rubber surface layer 25 is peeled to leave only a limited foamed cell of the sponge rubber surface layer 25 on the main rubber material layer side to form a foamed cell covering layer 8, and this foamed cell covering layer 8 constitutes a decorative surface 9 of a suede tone.
