PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the support shaft structure, and to improve the assembling workability by fixing a bearing for steering shaft while using a plate member provided between divided bodies of a housing. SOLUTION: A retainer plate 28 for fixing a ball bearing 14 to the inside of a bearing housing part 4B is provided between an input side housing part 2 and an output side housing part 4 of a housing 1. A steering shaft 6 is turnably supported by two bearings 14, 16. The rotating force to be applied to an input shaft part 7 by the steering operation is detected by a torque sensor 17, and the steering force is transmitted to a wheel side rack 18 through a worm wheel 27 and an output shaft part or the like by a electric motor 22. With this structure, the axial load to be applied to the output shaft part 12 is received by the ball bearing 14, and a needle bearing 16 can be used for the other bearing, and the steering shaft 6 support structure is simplified. |
