PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having improved control stability without producing a increase in rolling resistance. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire having a tread portion 1, sidewall portions 2 and bead portions 3 comprises a carcass 5 toroidally extending between bead cores 4 arranged in the bead portions 3 with a side edge portion turned around the bead cores 4 outward to the radial direction, bead fillers 7 arranged adjacent the outer peripheral faces of the bead cores 4 between the body and the turn-around portion of the carcass 5, and a cord reinforcing layer 8 formed of cords extending to the direction of 90-degree inclination to a radial segment and arranged from near the bead cores 4 outward to the radial direction. The density of the cords arranged, constituting the cord reinforcing layer 8, is smaller at a radially outward portion 8a than at an radially inward portion 8b of the cord reinforcing layer 8.
