PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous carbonization plant for solid waste which plant is made to contrive a compactification of the plant by improving the contact of a raw material with air or burning gas and by achieving the efficiency of carbonization, and to permit a stable partial combustion and a dry distillation, and also to increase a calorific value of the dry distilled gas to become combustible by itself. SOLUTION: A rotary kiln 1 has at the front stage side a drying aeration part 2 having a large number of blowholes and has at the rear stage side a burning-carbonizing aeration part 3 having a large number of blowholes. The drying aeration part 2 has around the external circumference a drying outer shell 4, which outer shell is disposed off at a short aperture, the bottom surface side of which outer shell 4 is provided with an air-supplying wind box 5 having an air inlet 7, and the top surface side of which outer shell is provided with an air-exhausting wind box 6 having an air outlet 8. The burning-carbonizing aeration part 3 has around the external circumference a burning-carbonizing outer shell 9 which is disposed off at a short aperture and the bottom surface side of which outer shell is provided with an air-supplying wind box 10 having an air inlet 11.
