PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool having high abrasion resistance in relation to a hard article to be cut and having the long life. SOLUTION: The cutting tool is formed of ultrafine particle cemented carbide in which the mean crystal particle diameter of tungsten carbide as a main component is not more than 0.5μm and the fracture toughness is not less than 23 MNm-3/2.
