PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable cleaning a discharge opening face without requiring a mechanism for moving wiping members or a restoring device and without requiring an extra time for a restoration operation by wiping and cleaning an adhering ink to the discharge opening face by the wiping members while a recording head moves from a restoration position to a recording position. SOLUTION: The recording head is made movable between a first and a second recording positions. The restoring device 15 is arranged between these recording positions. The restoring device 15 has a protecting cap 16 for covering an ink discharge part, a suction force-generating means connected to the protecting cap, the first wiping member 17 set between the protecting cap and the first recording position, and a second wiping member 18 set between the protecting cap and the second recording position. |
