PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for preventing the adverse effect of load stress on a living body. SOLUTION: This stress mitigating preparation comprises, a compound represented by formula 1 (wherein, R1 and R2 are each independently H or an aromatic group which may have one or more selected from the substituents represented by the formula -OR5 (R5 is the same as that in the formula 1.), and at least one of R1 and R2 is an aromatic group which may have the substituents; R3 and R4 are each independently H or the substituent represented by formula -OR5; R5 is H, sugar residue, an alkyl group, or an acyl group, and R5 may bond to the R4 group to form a ring.), or its physiologically acceptable salt. Another objective skin care preparation such as a make-up charge includes the above stress mitigating preparation.
