PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer which can execute heating treatment of a recording medium without impairing a resin film formed of a thermoplastic resin film, and the recording medium used therefor. SOLUTION: Printing is made on the recording medium P having the thermoplastic resin layer Pc to be the resin film by heating on the surface of an image receiving layer Pb, while the medium P is fed, and the printed part of the recording medium P is subjected to heat treatment, while the medium P is fed, in the ink jet printer 1. The printer 1 is equipped with recording medium feeding mechanisms 13 and 19, a printing head 10 conducting printing on the recording medium P and a heating device 16 heating the printed part of the medium P. The heating device 16 is constituted of a noncontact heater 61 facing a feeding route 21 of the recording medium P in a state of noncontact with the medium P. |
