摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer medium and an image receiving sheet, both of which can simultaneously realize prevention of lowering of a resolusion due to bleeding of ink caused by a crystalline wax with a lower melting point, increase of a durability at the abrasion of a transferred image with a hand and favorable realization of an areal gradation, and an image forming method. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer recording layer, which is mainly made of a coloring pigment, an acrylic resin and fine colorless or light-colored particles and formed into a film having the thickness of 0.5 to 1.0 μm, is provided on a support. Further, Tg of the acrylic resin is 40 to 100 deg.C and preferably its weight average molecular weight is 2,000 to 40,000. Especially, the compounding composition (by mass part) of the layer is 20 to 60 of the coloring pigment, 40 to 70 of the acrylic resin and 1 to 30 of the fine particle under the state that 100 of the whole solids of the thermal transfer layer. Further, the average particle diameter of the fine particles is 50 to 500 nm, which is smaller than that of the coloring pigment.
