PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire which enables great improvement of RR and RFV characteristics of the tire of low rolling resistance having tread rubber blended with a large quantity of silica. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the pneumatic tire having the tread rubber containing silica of 7 pts.wt., unvulcanized tread rubber just after extrusion is cut temporarily in a length exceeding a set length for forming and then stored, and just before the unvulcanized tread rubber of which storage is completed is stuck on the outer periphery of a circular belt member, the rubber is cut in the set length finally. The unvulcanized tread rubber cut finally is stuck on the circular belt member and the opposite cut faces of the unvulcanized tread rubber are jointed. Vulcanization is applied to an unvulcanized tire prepared by sticking a joined member thus formed and a green case together.
