A method for removing a bottom dross in a hot dip galvanizing bath, which comprises providing a cylindrical device having openings in its top portion and bottom portion, a means for blowing bubbles in in its bottom portion and an ingot containing metallic aluminum in its middle portion, immersing the cylindrical device in the hot dip galvanizing bath in a transferable manner, feeding bubbles by the above means and blowing the bubbles toward the bottom dross, to thereby float the ingot up in the device together with bubbles, reacting the bottom dross floated up with the ingot containing metallic aluminum, to thereby convert it into a top dross and further float it up, and removing the top dross. The method can be employed for removing a bottom dross deposited in the bottom portion of a hot dip galvanizing bath with good efficiency, while keeping the composition of the bath almost constant. |
