PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple forming method of high degree of freedom for a coloring material separating film for realizing the high picture quality using a fine particle coloring material of a pigment family, separating the coloring material by applying the voltage of small potential difference between a coloring material separating film forming section and a reference electrode generated correspondinly to a light image signal and provided with high safety. SOLUTION: In the forming method for the coloring material separating film, a current or an electric field is applied in compliance with a coloring material separating film pattern to a desired section and an opposite electrode in the state of bringing at least a retaining face of a retaining member, which is provided with the electrode providing the current or the electric field in compliance with the pattern of the coloring material separating film and the retaining face for retaining the coloring material separating film, into contact with an aqueous dispersion liquid containing the fine particle coloring material and an electro-deposit material containing a polymer compound chemically dissolved, separated or deposited by the variation of the fine particle coloring material and pH contained therein, and the pH of the aqueous dispersion liquid in the vicinity of the surface of the retaining member is varied to separate and sediment the electro-deposit material containing the fine particle coloring material and form the coloring material separating film. |
