EDIBLE OIL COMPOSITION CONTAINING LONG-CHAIN ALCOHOL AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of incorporating a long-chain alcohol into an edible oil. SOLUTION: This method of incorporating a long-chain alcohol into an edible oil comprises a process for supplying a high-molecular weight alcohol, a process for supplying an edible oil substantially not containing a triglyceride having a chain length of middle degree constituted of 8-10C fatty acids and containing <=about 12 wt.% of linoleic acid, a process for formulating the high-molecular weight alcohol with the edible oil to form a mixture of the high-molecular weight alcohol/the edible oil containing <=2 wt.% of the high-molecular weight alcohol and a process for combining the formulated mixture with other components of food. The formulated mixture substantially contains neither an emulsifying agent nor a surfactant and has <=about 200 centipoise viscosity measured at 70 deg. F (21 deg.C).
