PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic container coated with a deposited carbon film demonstrating superior gas barrier properties even after the deformation or the application of impact and also demonstrating the resistance to sorption to an aromatic component or an odorous component and also provide a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The plastic container is provided with the deposited carbon film, and the surface side of the deposited carbon film contains a high hydrogen content, while the plastic container is provided with the gradient of the low hydrogen content in which the hydrogen content on the central side in the thickness direction is low all from the surface side toward a plastic base.
